P4C800 Deluxe Shutdown

I have recently completed a system using the P4C800 Deluxe and am
experiencing total shutdowns sometimes after only a couple of minutes use.
I have flashed the bios. The highest temp I have seen on the CPU is 37 C.
The system ran long enough to install Windows but has failed consistently
since.

ASUS P4C800 Deluxe
Intel P4 3.0
Corsair, 512 MB PC3200, CL2
Maxtor 160 GB ATA drive
425 Watt PS
MS XP Home Edition

Hints appreciated.

Try getting a very good power supply. I just finished a very similar system
last week and experienced the same symptoms -- I went with an Antec
TruePower 430 and have not had problems in four days now (knock wood).

I suspect that you have an old Bios. I use Corsair PC3200 LL not C2 and with
old bios it doesn't worked because the timings on this memory was to tought.
Funny thing was that i could run it perfect if I overclocked to 20 %. Thats
because motherbord automaticely set ram to 320 MHz insted of 400. After
updating to newer bios I have no problems at all.
What bios do you use ?

My system is virtually the same, I use corsair memory and 425 psu. I am
guessing maybe your board is shot. What kinda shutdowns? Blue screen,
power just shuts off or is it proper shutdown sequence? What make of PSU is
it?
