Hey all..

This issue is regarding the Internet connectivity...

Everything works fine in the computer, I can browse, download files using web
browsers ( Ex : IE 6, IE 7, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape )

There is no problem with the web browsers, but when it comes to P2P
applications like Ares, Azureus, BitLord, Limewire, E-Donkey..... am not able
to connect to their respective servers, in short these applications doesn't
connect to internet.

I've tried changed the port settings within these applications, disabled
firewall, ran an online windows live one care scan (safety.live.com).. even
after that there is no change..

And i've noticed one funny thing thats whenever i try
"ping www.yahoo.com", for that matter whenever i ping any website its gives
out a message saying "ping request timed out"

i've tried resetting winsock, tcp/ip. ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew. No
security applications, windows firewall disabled.

and i also have a computer where in i have windows vista installed, but
everything works fine that the vista computer.

Am running XP PRO SP2 with 512 RAM, DSL connection connected via router (
wired connection )

well i'll be looking forward for the valuable suggestions... and please
don't suggest to reinstall the whole operating system, which i cannot do, as
its a very tedious process when it comes to windows.

How do you connect to the Internet? Is it possible that your Internet service
has blocked P2P traffic? Are you running P2P from the Vista computer?

If all that you've done in the LSP / Winsock issue is "netsh reset winsock",
then try some more diagnostics.
