P2P and Kazaa!!

Chris

I went to uninstall P2P yesterday, a component of Kazaa,
and it did warn me that it was associated with other
programs, but I just wanted to get rid of it. What
actually happened is that it deleted the entire contents
of My Documents, and my desktop icons. I have lost many
many files and pictures, and don't know what to do. I
have done the 'System Recovery' wizard, and rolled the
computer back to before I performed the operation, and my
icons have come back, but nothing else. Is there any
other way to regain the information? Surely it couldn't
just have disappeared like that, it only lasted a few
seconds and it usually takes longer than that to delete
so many things.
How can Kazaa co. get away with something like this!
any help would be appreciated, thanks,
chris thomas

Are you sure you did not allow it by using that peer to peer sharing?
It would not be the first time someone took instead of copying data.
If you insist on using Kazaa, thoroughly learn how it works and how to
protect your computer.
Many that use Kazaa use it dealing with stolen programs, music etc.
Those really have nowhere to complain.
Another of the many reasons I will not touch Kazaa.

Kazaa is evil. It is riddled with spyware, and has been known to cause a lot
of damage to people's systems.

For a safe and competent alternative, I'd recommend WinMX:
