P2B CPU voltage questions...

I understand that the P2B 1.10 boards (which I have) are "better" than
the 1.02 boards. The question I have is what exactly "better" means.

Can a 1.10 board supply lower voltages without an adjustable voltage
slocket when the CPU tells it to ? Or is the 1.10 board better because
it can be told by a slocket what voltage to supply... but it still
needs the adjustable voltage slocket to tell it?

Thanks,

Clarification on my post... I'm interested in this not only in terms
of using a slocket, but with a newer slot-1 CPU. That is, will a PIII
Slot-1 SECC2 CPU work in this board ? Maybe a slot-1 Celeron if I
can find one? Obviously the CPU voltage would not be adjustable
if the mobo will not do it with a slot-1 CPU.

Thanks again,

Rev. 1.10 *may* already have a voltage regulator that's suited for
Coppermines, i.e. can supply voltages down to 1.3 V, see the FAQ:
http://homepage.hispeed.ch/rscheidegger/p2b_procupgrade_faq.html

So, look out for the voltage regulator chip, and if it's a newer one,
you can run everything on your board that'll run on a rev 1.12.
