OWA vs Outlook 2k3 cached

Ok noob questions here: Why do emails show up in OWA faster than
Outlook 2k3 cached? Is it because of using cached mode? I noticed it
seems to receive them faster when not using it. Not a huge issue, just
curious.

You're comparing two completely different things here. One is a desktop
application and the other is web application. Part of the answer is that OWA
doesn't list the entire folder but only a view messages. You'll get slower
results with OWA as well when you list your entire folder. But again; you're
comparing two completely different things here.
