oversized archive file

I have archived my 2007 emails. The size of the file is 2.6GB. Now I can not
open it due to it is too big. I believe outlook can only handles 2GB and
under. I have truncated the file to under 2GB. Still can not open the file.

Any solution is greatly appreciated.

Outlook 2007 data files in the native Outlook 2007/2003 unicode format have
no such size issue, 20gb or more is doable.
Run scanpst.exe, the repair tool, on the archive and see what it reports
