Outlook2000 crashes after receiving a few mails?

I have just set up Outlook 2000 to receive mails from my compuserve mail
account. Operation is erratic. Sending mail seem impossible, and often when
receiving mail, the Outlook software crashes. I have downloaded all relevant
XP and Office updates to no effect. Is this problem known? Would Office 2007
avoid this?

You'll have to describe your configuration in more detail. Are you using
Internet Mail Only mode or Corporate/Workgroup mode? Do you have SR-1 and
SR-2 applied? What type of account have you configured (POP, IMAP)? What
does Event Viewer contain about the crash. That exactly does "seems
impossible" mean? Have you consulted CompuServe support? Have you read this:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/299325 ? (Granted, it's for
Outlook 2002, but the configuration for Outlook 2000 should be similar.) How
about this?
