outlook2.pst is busy

When I try to receive or send mail I get the following error.

" The file Documents and settings\HP_Administrator\Local
Settings\Application data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook2.pst is in use and could
not be accessed. Close and application that is using the file, and then try
again. "

I have tried all of the basic stuff to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hello, I've received a similar error, but we have common mailboxes and I get
this when someone else is in that mailbox when I'm trying to access it. Are
you using a mailbox that can be accessed by another person?

Not that I am aware of. The only thing that I noticed that was out of the
ordinary was that when I looked at the PST file there were (4) of them. One
labled Outlook and the others with the numbers 1,2,3 behind them.
