Outlook XP 2002 Account re-sets

C

Craig Revie

My outlook account settings are as follows:

Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.freeserve.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.freeserve.com
User name: myusername

When I reboot my PC the account settings reset themselves
to:

Incoming mail server (POP3): localhost
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.freeserve.com
User name: myusername/pop.freeserve.com

This means that every time I want to check my email after
rebooting the PC, I have to re-enter my acount settings.

Any help appreciated - thank you :)

This is caused by your virusscanner acting as a "mailproxy". Se the
documentation of your virusscanner on how to disable it.
