I have outlook 2003. One of my email accounts will receive but not send out
going emails. The funny thing is i can send from my Yahoo account just fine.
i have tinkered with all settings. when i run test it "fails" to send test
email and i get 2 error messages, 1 error says it has found the server but
gets no response and that i should check port and SSL info. the other Error
states outlook could not connect to outgoing mail server SMTP and that the
problem could be with server name or port and to also to check port and SSL
info. ANY IDEAS?

Are you on the same network as the SMTP server? Many SMTP servers won't
accept a connection if you're not connected to their network

Via Yahoo? Do you mean the webmail service? I'd think Yahoo is using their
own SMTP server. How are you connecting to the Internet when you're having
trouble?

wife and I each have an email address for my company which is also through
SBC Yahoo, all three work perfect. it is the one for my new business
california crating that will not work in outlook, i can send using yahoo
email program but not through outlook. both my POP3 and SMTP server addresses
are mail.californiacrating.com

Hmmm, I think that's the problem. You can't use mail.californiacrating.com
as your SMTP server while connected to SBC Yahoo. You'll need to use SBC's
SMTP server
