Outlook will not close..

It seems that outlook 2000 will not complete close anymore
on certain machines.. I have determined that it so far is
happening to machines running Windows 2000 professional
with 2000 office...
I'm running exchange 5.5..

When I close outlook, it hangs.. it says " outlook is not
exiting" but it gets stuck there unless i go into task
manager and end the task..
While the outlook is exiting, i can still open another
outlook with no problem.. but i just cannot close it..

I'm thinking that it has something to do with exchange not
letting it completely close? like it's holding some
information and can't exit it?

I'm running office 2003 on some machines, and i heard that
there were some issues with 2003 and exchange 5.5... but i
downloaded the patch for that already... but i dont know
if it affected 2000 outlook.

I already tried totally uninstalling outlook 2000 and
reinstalling it, but the same thing still happens..

Any suggestions?

I had a similar problem.. 2K client connected to 2 different mailboxes.. As soon as I did a defrag on the 5.5 IS it cleared up

I defraged my exchange server... still same problem...
or is defraging 5.5 IS something else?? sorry.. i'm kind
of a newbie..

Check your add-ins and disable/update them when needed. Also see if Outlook
still has problems with closing when starting Outlook from Start-> Run: with
the /safe switch. If not it's quite likely that's it's an add-in that holds
Outlook integration like a virusscanner.

Yeah.. I checked Add In's.. Nothing there.. It's
definately the server.. Because when i took outlook off
the exchange server.. It was able to close with no
problems...
SO now i have to figure out what's wrong with exchange 5.5
server...
