Outlook task start/end date should be viewable on Calendar

I am looking for a way to have the start and end dates of tasks be
automatically indicated on my calendar. I recognize I can create a calendar
item from a task, but then I have two separate items to maintain. Is there a
way to do this that is not apparent, or am I missing something?
