I have a toshiba Tecra S2 laptop which is running windows XP pro and office
2003 pro. When I close the lid of the laptop it goes into hibernate mode.
When I reopen the laptop outlook opens in my calendar view. Is there any way
to stop this from happening?

Close Outlook before closing your laptop lid?

Outlook is closed prior to closing the lid. It just starts on its own.

Then go into options and configure Outlook to default to whatever folder you
select. When wanting to change the behavior of an application, well, that's
what options are for. You'll find an option to change the default folder to
open when Outlook gets loaded. If you cannot find the option by hunting
around on your own, hit F1 while in Outlook and search on "startup folder".

Minimizing Outlook (to a tray icon) is NOT closing the application. If
Outlook is loading on resume from hibernation then it was still loaded in
memory when you put it into hibernation.
