Outlook Shuts Down When Minimizing

I use Office 2003. Without any (known) keystroke by me, Outlook began closing
down if I minimize it or click onto an open message. The message I open stays
either on the tray (minimized) or in the viewing pane. Yet, if I minimize, it
goes away. I have to open Outlook again to access it. Can anyone help? Did I
change a setting and not know it? Thanks...

Is it really closing - look in task manager.

Do you have outlook configured to minimize to tray? Right click on the tray
icon and see if it is set to minimize to tray?
