Outlook sets itself to default at evry launch

Hi,
I recently setup a new client on my SBS 2k3 standard server.
It installed Outlook on the client as it should when the client first logged
into the domain controller.

However, I do NOT want Outlook to be the default email program on this
client.

I set my default to be Eudora or Outlook Express or anything other than
Outlook and that setting stays until I do need to use Outlook.

Every time I launch Outlook, it automatically sets itself as the default
email handler.

The option under Tools/Options/Other to change this behavior is checked but
grayed out so I can't change it.
How can I make this checkbox visible again so I may change that setting??

I have put the "NoTransportOrder 1" switch in the registry.
I have also set the "do not configure Outlook Profile Information" for this
client in the 2k3 SBS client computer profile.

I'm at a loss.
I know there is a way to make the check box in Outlook become available
again as I have done such before but I can't recall how I had done it!

Anyone know?

Thanks All

This is probably an SBS thing....I suggest you post in
microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs.

Perhaps you should rephrase your post, then - that group gets a *lot* of
traffic, and even on weekends. If you don't get an answer, maybe nobody
knows an answer - and "I don't know" isn't much of an answer, so try again
if after a few days there's nothing.

You can crosspost, you know - e.g., send a single message to that group, and
to microsoft.public.outlook, at the same time (separate the group names with
commas). That way everyone can follow the replies in the thread, and it
won't appear that you're asking people to duplicate the efforts of others.

Hey, Thanks for the info on how to crosspost!
I knew this was possible but never tried it.

I did get an answer as well.
It was incorrect but it steered me in the proper direction.
The OP said I must have a group policy for Outlook installed but I did not.
That made me think, what happens if I install the Outlook policy?
I did that and everything works now!

Thanks Again!
