i am out of the office on sunday and i need to send my boss email updates for
his appts for monday. So is there a way for me to set up an email on sat
before i leave that will send on sunday evening? or can i set up an email
reminder in my calendar when i put my appt in there?

Shauna,

Too bad no one answered your post before Sunday. In order to send a delayed
e-mail, you create one just as you would normally, click the Options button
and select the "Do not send before" option. Establish a date and time of
delivery. Click OK. Once you're done, click Send (not Save). The e-mail
will be in your Outbox and will be delivered at the designated time.

As for reminders, they should be added to the appointments in your boss's
calendar, not yours.

Hope this helps!

Hello Helen,

When a user sets an email to delay through options, does the owner of the
delayed email have to start Outlook in order to send the delayed email?

Elaine,

As long as your Outlook is connected to an Exchange server, there is no
problem, since the delayed messages will sit on the server until the "sending
time" has been reached. It is not based on the client, that is your
computer, but the server.

Helen, is that a setup on the server by the network administrator, or on the
client's computer? My client/computer does not behave that way. I tested it
this afternoon. It sent the delayed email closed my Outlook and started
Outlook after the set time.

Elaine,

Forgive me for asking this question but it's the one that usually solve the
problem: after you have clicked the Options button of the new e-mail
message, selected the right option, did you hit Send on the message?

Yes, I send and the email goes into the Outbox. No "forgiveness required",
you need to take care of the details.
