Outlook Security Error

We are having some problems with Outlook 2002(xp) giving us an error message
when we try to send delivery confirmations.

The error message says:
A program is trying to access e-mail addresses you have stored in Outlook.
Do you want to allow this?
If this is unexpected, it may be avirus and you should choose "No"

I have used the Office XP Resource Kit and created a top level folder in our
public folders tree named Outlook 10 Security folder and then
I set the Custom Security Settings. I also added the registry key to the
desktop but I am still getting the error message.

Is there something else I need to do?

What option did you set in the security settings item? Was it a default item to affect all users? Did users restart Outlook after the CheckAdminSettings registry value was applied? What value did you use for CheckAdminSettings?

Are these delivery confirmations being generated by a separate application, not Outlook? If so, then the best and most secure solution is to fix the application, not to open up Outlook so that malicious programs can access addresses.

Under outlook security setting I gave them
Do not prompt about level 1 attachments when sending an item
Do not prompt about level 1 attachments when closing an item
Allow in-place activation of embedded OLE objects
Checked Enable scripts in one-off outlook forms and to automatically
approve.

Under Programmatic setting automatically approve all items.

I did not add anything under the trusted code tab.

The default item was set to affect all users

They are being generated by another application. Unfortunately I cannot get
the application changed at this time.

So far so good (although your machine will be wide open to any malicious software that wants to harvest addresses or send through Outlook). What value did you set for CheckAdminSettings? Did you restart Outlook yet?

Is this happening on just one machine or all? It might be worthwhile to delete the existing security settings item and create a new one.

It happens on all the pc's running Office XP. I have deleted the security
settings and recreated them. I still get the same error message.

The only explanation I can come up with is that something is wrong with the folder or security settings item or that the client wasn't configured correctly. If it were my organization, I'd probably start over with a new folder.
