Outlook cannot access webmail. Please be more specific in describing how
you've configured Outlook to access your mail server.

In Outlook, I went into Tools, E-mail accounts and added a new e-mail
account. I went through adding the info required, and finished the wizard. My
business partner went through the same process and this works fine on their
laptop. My outlook will allow me to send e-mails but when it sends/receives
you can see it getting the e-mails, but they do not appear in the inbox, or
any other folder in Outlook.

Any help is appreciated

What account type did you choose? What version of Outlook? What do you
mean by "you can see it getting the e-mails"? What are you looking at when
that happens? Does the "Unread Mail" search folder exist and does it
contain anything? When you created the account, did you use the "Test
Account" button? If so, what were the results?

Check the view selected for the Inbox folder.
Disable any rules you defined.
Try running Outlook in its safe mode ("outlook.exe /safe").

Hi,

It is Outlook 2003 from the full Office 2003 set. I have set it up through
both POP and IMAP. When I open Outlook and activate Send/Receive at the
bottom right hand side of Outlook it shows what is happening and you can see
it saying Receiving 1 of 9 messages, 2 of 9 etc as to what is in my Webmail
account. "Unread mail" does exist and it doesn't contain anything. The only
folder which contains anything is the Sent items, as this works ok. When I
set it up, I did activate the test, and again this worked fine.

I checked the webmail providers, and they gave me a method to make sure that
it was not the webmail causing the problem, and this showed that the webmail
was getting through.

I am going to try uninstalling and re-installing the programme to see if
this works. If you can think of anything else I'd be grateful.

Thanks, can you tell me how to run it in safe mode - I'm not too technically
minded - as you may have guessed.

He gave you that answer already. You must run the command "outlook.exe
/safe". Click Start>Run. Enter

outlook.exe /safe

in the Open field. Be sure to include the space. Click OK.
