3 days ago, my outlook decided it could not open all my emails - mad
bad noises from my hard drive... so i took a look at the size of the
pst file - 205MB - i was due to do a clear out and a back up but its
been manic - baby due in a few weeks..

so now i'm reinstalled outlook and given it a brand new .pst file but
how do I get the old emails to open so i can get even the email
address etc??

I've tried to save it onto a CD but its gets so far and then tells me
there is a data reading error...

please help - my life is in those emails and all my appointments for
my baby etc.. any help ro advice would be appreciated.

thanks

Look for the "Inbox Repair Tool" (scanpst) in
Start | Programs | Accessories |System Tools

Specify the personal folder file (.pst) or offline folder file
(.ost) that you want to scan. This tool will attempt to fix
a corrupted PST.

If you don't find it there, just perform a find on your hard drive
for "SCANPST.*". (Be sure to check for HIDDEN files also.)
Click on your Windows desktop
Press the <F3> key
Look for: scanpst.*
This will bring up both the executable and
the Helpfile that accompanies it.
