Outlook.pst again!

I am trying to reduce outlook.pst (1GB) deleting e-mail from Personal
Folders, but the file size remains the same.
I tried also to archive (archive.pst), but I get the same problem: the
archived e-mails are not more in the personal folders, but outlook.pst size
remains the same (than I reduced the disk space more and more..)
I have XPprofessional sp1 and Outlook 2k sp3.

You need to compact the pst file. Right Click on Outlook Today, select
Properties, go to Advanced and click on "Compact Now".

I'm not sure what exporting does to the "white space" inside the pst, but
certainly you should compact after deleting items and removing them from the
"deleted items" folder
