Hello all,
I am currently dealing with a situation where Outlook
2002 and Access 2002 are installed on a Windows 2000
Terminal server, setup in application mode. The Access
application has some functionality coded into it which
allows for the sending of mass emails.
Since upgrading to Outlook 2002, I have encountered some
added "functionality". Every time a message is relayed
through Outlook, Outlook prompts the user with a dialog
box to the effect of "Another program is trying to send
an email on your behalf." The user is prompted to allow
or deny this activity.
This is a big problem because emails are being sent to
thousands of people, and each individual email brings up
this dialog box.
When Outlook was running in a non-terminal server
environment, I was able to download a security template,
place it in the Exchange public folders, and apply it to
all users. The settings on the template allowed Access
to interact with Outlook, and not trigger the
confirmation dialog.
For some reason in the terminal server environment, those
security settings do not seem to be taking effect.
