Outlook Profile

Some where along the line, I am getting confused about Outlook Profiles.
Based on what I have read and my own experimenting, the following is a list
of tasks and features / questions related to the Outlook Profile file.

System Info: Windows XP and Outlook 2002

1) To change from one profile to another, you go to Control Panel then
Mail. In
the lower half of the window is a list of profile you can choose
from.
2) Each profile contains an independent list / data from other profile
files as to
Contacts, Calander, Tasks & Memo's etc.
3) When you change the profile, as instructed in 1) above, you now have
new
lists of Contacts, Calander, Tasks and Memo's independent of the
other
profiles
created.
4) If you delete a profile, you delete all Contacts, Calander, Tasks
and Memo's
that are associated with that profile.
Question 1: When you are in the Outlook program, how do you know which
profile is being used / active? I have yet to
find the profile name
show in the Outlook program. Where do you find
it within
Outlook?
Question 2: Assuming I do not have a network, all data associated with
the
first profile is contained within a PST file
named Outlook. If I
create a second profile, the PST file will be
named Outlook 1. As
I create more profiles, the PST continues to add
1 to the last file
name ...Outlook2, Outlook3, Outlook4 ..... Does
the Outlook.pst
file contain all the data for Contacts,
Calanders, Tasks and
Memo's? If I erase a profile file, will that
earse all data? The file
size looks to small to contain all the programs
data.

Any help with the information and questions above would be appreciated.
Thank You, JAD

Profiles can be linked to any Outlook data file you specify. They can all be
use the same data file if you want. Deleting a profile does nothing to the
data file. It remains on your hard drive right where it was.
You can always tell which data file you are using by looking at the
properties of your root folder in Outlook. An easy way to tell which profile
you are using is to name your data file to match your Profile name.
