outlook problem - 'not responding'

Periodically, my outlook program just stops working and locks up. It gets an
error, not responding. Usually, if I restart my computer it will work again.
But this time, no luck. Also it can be very slow at times. I do have many
e-mails filed in various folders that I have created. Today, it was working
fine then all of a sudden it just stopped responding. I did a virus scan,
nothing showed up. Does anyone have any suggestions or has anyone had this
problem? I am on Windows XP, but I have had this same problem when I had
Windows 2000 also.

I think this is integration with Anti Virus software. Trty disabling the integration of your AV software with
Outlook.
