Outlook not terminating process upon closing

Hi,

When I close Outlook, I notice the process is still running and continues to
run. If I run Outlook in 2 hours, it opens immediately (I have multiple
profiles) and does not ask for which profile (it IS setup to ask). It is
because the Outlook process was not terminated when I last shut down Outlook.

The only way to overcome this, is to close Outlook, open up Task Manager and
stop the process. The problem with this sometimes is that next time Outlook
opens, the data file error message comes up and Outlook must check all the
data files, this can take a couple of hours because of the size of my Outlook
PST files.

Is this a known problem?

Its a common problem, posted here on a regular basis, generally caused by
third part addins eg
Intergrated AV scanning, Fax or sync software
