Outlook Not Responding

In the last couple of days Outlook has just stopped responding every time i
start it up. I am using Outlook 2003 and have the latest updates and service
packs. When i go to start it i see my Inbox then it just freezes and says not
responding. If i open it up with task manager on then after about 5 seconds
in the application window anothe Outlook application appears and then they
both say not responding.
I have ran Anti Spyware and Norton Antivirus so i am confident it is not a
virus. I have a high spec computer and the rest of MS Office is working fine.
I have trued detect and repair and still no joy. The smae thing happens when
Outlook starts in Safe Mode. Can anyone suggest anything before i try a
re-install?

try to remove the outcmd.dat file in your profile directory (don't know what
is does) but it made our Outlook 2003 working again.

Thanks for the reply, but i am not sure about deleting a dat file without
knowing what it does or the ramifications of this.

I have been looking through other posts and it seems the problem might be
with my WinFax Pro v10.02 which may need upgrading.

Any ideas???

Close Outlook. Find and rename outcmd.dat to .old. (If using Windows 2000
or XP, you will need to enable searching hidden and system folders.)

Once you have done so, reopen Outlook and it should open fine. You will
need to rebuild any custom toolbars or customizations as the file outcmd.dat
controls how the toolbars display. When it becomes corrupted, it will cause
Outlook to hang because it cannot create the toolbars that you expect.
