Hi
I have been recieving this message every time i open outlook. The connection
to the server has failed. Account: 'pop3.btconnect.com', Server:
'pop3.btconnect.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket
Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
I can recieve mail on the webmail site but its seems that the connection is

Hi,
I've got the same problem with windows mail since three days.
I'm receiving the following message:

Fehler bei der Verbindung zum Server. Konto: 'pop.aol.com', Server:
'pop.aol.com', Protokoll: POP3, Port: 110, Secure (SSL): Nein, Socketfehler:
10060, Fehlernummer: 0x800CCC0E

Any ideas how to solve this issue?

Thanks in advance!

That's because AOL mail uses IMAP not POP.

Thanks for your help, Gordon,

it works with IMAP!
I'm only wondering why it does not work any longer with POP3. I've used POP3
since monts.....

anyway, I've changed it to IMAP and it works!

If you really mean "Outlook" you are in the wrong newsgroup.
The newsgroup to which you posted is for the Windows Mail program.
You are more likely to find Outlook experts in the Outlook newsgroup:

http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...ault.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.outlook.general

However, that error message looks like it came from Windows Mail.
If so, that problem is likely to be caused by your antivirus. Which antivirus
are you running? Some of them are not fully compatible
with Windows Mail.
