Outlook not opening

I have Outlook 2007 on a Vista system and today I can't open the program.
The message reads "Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook
window".
Any help?

Have you checked your application event viewer for any Office or
Outlook-related entries?

Yet tried loading Outlook in its safe mode ("outlook.exe /safe")? That
will load Outlook but without loading any of the add-ons that you
installed for Outlook.
