outlook news group reader setup

I have been able to set-up the news group reader in Outlook 2002 and when I
see the list of newgroups I cannot find the one I want. It is MS Expression
graphic Designer. How can I do this?

Outlook is not a news reader.
You appear to have a question for the service that provides NNTP for your
news reader.

You can't because there no NG called: "MS Expression graphic Designer"
on msnews.microsoft.com host. Did you mean:

microsoft.public.expression.discussion

Alternatively have you got the correct name so that we can tell you
exactly how to use Outlook Express to get it.

In Outlook Express, your news reader, click on the MS server in the folders
pane and click Newsgroups.
In the "Search newsgroups which contain" box type "expression" without the
quotes. Select the group you want and click the Subscribe" button.
The group will show up under the MS server.

Hi Ernie,
In OE, in the pane on the left, beside the usual "Local Folders", I only see
"news.verizon.net", no MS server... Can you advise me from here?

Did you try clicking on "news.version.net" and following the previously
explained procedure. It may be that you will need to download the group
names carried on that server. Do that or add the MS server which is
msnews.microsoft.com
via the Tools menu>Accounts>News tab> Add button and download the group list
from there. Then find and subscribe to your group(s). The one I see that you
might want is
microsoft.public.expression.graphicdesigner
ern.

Hi Ernie,That did it. Big help.

It displays 2 days of posts and I want to see more. I feel I'm in the game
and need to learn how to play. Where can I see tutorial etc on how to use
this effectively?

The Expressions newsgroup certainly contains more that two days work of
postings. Try this link:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.expressions.discussion

I don't know about tutorials but the Outlook Express, Help facility is quite
good and, of course the OE newsgroups are an invaluable resource. You might
want this group also:
microsoft.public.outlook.installation

ern.
