Outlook Monthly Calander

When printing out a monthly view I would expect the prior month and next
month to print on top in a small format, with the current month being the
main calander. When I print it however the current month and next month are
displayed on top and current month is the main calander. The current being
duplicated. Any ideas?

Unfortunately that is just how Outlook's print styles work. You might want
to take a look at some free Word templates that use your Outlook calendar
data to create a calendar in Word, which you can then customize to your
liking. I personally use "My Outlook Calendar" and am very pleased with it.
When you print the month view using that template you will get the previous
and next month's thumbnail calendars.

Click the link and read. Right away you'll see a reference to "My Outlook
Calendar" and that will be a link as well. Click it and you'll see links
named "Office 2000 version" and "Office 97/Outlook 98" each of which will
download a zip file containing a Word document template. Load that template
into Word.

Some of the "shortcut" links on Slipstick pages were broken recently -- I
pointed them out to the webmaster and she fixed them, so the link should work

Sorry, I'm still having trouble. I have the template now, but I don't
understand how to get the appointments from the Outlook calendar into the
Word template. What am I missing?

If the template is in Word's default Templates folder, you should be able to
find it in Word via File | New. Double-click My Outlook Calendar to open a
new document based on the template. When you do that, macros will run and
bring up a dialog box where you specify the settings you want for your Word
calendar. There should be some documentation included with the file you
downloaded, if you need extra help.

What if I don't want those monthly calendars to appear in the header? How
can I eliminate them?

error message: Run-time error -'2147024770(8007007e)' Automation error, the
specified module could not be found. I used this calendar successfully with
Office XP Professional but am not being successful with Outlook 2003.

You can edit the word templates to remove the calendar thumbnails.

Hi Jocelyn,

I downloaded the 'My Outlook Calendar' file and all it contained was a Word
template file, My Outlook Calendar.dot. I copied the template into the
template folder located at C:\Documents and Settings\dkennedy\Application
Data\Microsoft\Templates (where the normal.dot for Word is lcoated),
restarted the computer and opened Outlook 2003. When I switch to Calendar
view, select Print from the file menu, and then Print Preview, it is still
showing the standard Outlook calendar. How do I tell Outlook to load the
template file so I can customize the printer Calendar to show the prior, and
next month, as thumbnails?

Never mind. I figured out that I need to open the template in Word and it
will pull from my Outlook calendar

This is unacceptable. Just how Outlook works? Or doesn't work is more like
it. So you point us to a third party supplier to fix this issue? Bologna.
I will hack apart the registry and rewrite the code to fix this poor
application if I have to myself. My office uses Open office for documents
and we are trying to rid our selves of Outlook. Just tell me that you will
fix this issue or you have a registry code to give me, so I shouldn't have to
pay for your product, then fix it. Will the next version be just as bad as
this one. Some great features, but you make us work to find them or modify
the application to get them to work. Very disappointed.

What "you" are you addressing in that tone? Perhaps you're not aware that these are peer-to-peer forums and that Jocelyn is another user, just like you, who volunteers her free time to answer people's questions and share her experience regarding the solutions she's found for Outlook's idiosyncracies.

Did you look at Word templates she suggested? If you did, you'd see that no "third-party supplier" is involved and that you're free to modify the code in these templates to further customize the calendar printouts any way you like.
