Outlook mail merge & cc: (group mailbox)

I need help please! I am working on an e-mail mail merge (so Outlook & Word
2003). Will the sent messages automatically go to my personal SENT folder?

Additionally, is there any way to copy a shared mailbox on all messages
sent? We need to have a record with the date/time sent for tracking/legal
purposes. (I tried setting up an Outlook template (.oft file) to use as the
starting document, but the mail merge wizard in Word would not acknowledge
the file...

Thank you!!!

They do for me.

Anyone who thinks time stamps on mail items is proof of anything is deluding
himself. They're all easily faked. For example, it would be fairly trivial
to make a message appear to have been sent either before or after the real
sending time.

If the shared mailbox is mail-enabled, you could include that mailbox's
address in the mail merge.

Brian,

Thank you for the response. I understand it is not definitive "proof" but
it makes the boss feel better. :) Could you help walk me through how you
have included the group mailbox then?

I'm using an excel spreadsheet for the recipients. The merge wizard in Word
is using that list to populate the "To:" field of the merged e-mails but I
can't figure out how to insert a "cc:" in the merged message. I would want
the group mailbox to be in the cc: for EVERY message sent (if I just add the
group mailbox to the excel spreadsheet I'd only get the one message in that
inbox and the sent copy in my personal folder, correct)?

So what's the trick?

Thanks again!

Does it really matter if the mailbox is Ccd? Why not just include its
address in the Excel spreadsheet and allow it to receive a copy as well?

Ideally we want to have a copy of each message sent - there are about 75
users that will each get a customized message. We want to have a copy of
each of those messages in the group mailbox...if we add the group mailbox to
the spreadsheet, the group mailbox would only get one message customized to
the name of the mailbox (which isn't really what we want). The message
contains user information specific to each individual...thanks!
