Outlook is trying to send 6 messages that arn't really there

Send and receive keeps giving me an error message after trying to send 1 of 6
messages. The messages aren't there and it sends my messages fine. It
started out trying to send 3 now it's up to six. Any thoughts? I have MS
Office 2003
