Outlook/Hotmail junk filters not in synch

I use Outlook 2003 to manage my Hotmail account. As I get junk mail in my
inbox, I right-click and indicate that the sender should be blocked. When I
find mail in my junk email folder that is not junk mail, I right-click it and
mark that email from this sender is not junk and should always be allowed.

I have to do this over and over again for the same senders, as it seems that
Hotmail has its own junk email filter that is not in synch with and ignores
the settings I'm making in Outlook. Do I have to log on to the Hotmail web
site to indicate blocked & allowed email? If so, then Outlook should not
allow you to go through this futile exercise if it's not going to work with
Hotmail accounts.

Are you using a paid hotmail account or msn premium with the outlook
connector?

if it's a free hotmail account, that's how it works and you'll lose the
ability to use it with outlook within a few months. If you use it with the
outlook connector, a future version will sync the junk settings better.

It was set up as a free hotmail account, but a few weeks ago I was locked out
of using it with Outlook (without any forewarning) and was forced to tie it
to my existing MSN premium account. So as far as I know, at this point it is
considered a subscribed account.

What is the "outlook connector"?

thanks,
Luann

it's a mail transport for hotmail/man accounts that syncs the web calendar
and contacts with outlook. See

installation instructions.
