Outlook has disappeared from computer how do i restore

A friend of mine had Oulook XP on his computer. His computer locked up on
him so he pwered if off. When he booted up, Outlook did not run and was not
visible on his desktop anymore. How do we find it on the computer and get it
resored? We searched via My Computer and only found the short cut icon in
the recycle bin to restore. When we restored the short cut, it does not open
anything.

Have you run a disk check on the machine to make sure the drive isn't
damaged?

Look in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10 for Outlook.exe. If it
there?
