Outlook freezes when saving an attachment

This problem is similar to a previous post but Outlook freezes altogether on
this one. Here's what I'm doing when I encounter this problem:

1. Open, then close attachment.
2. Right click on attachment and select Save As.

At this point, the dialog box freezes, then Outlook freezes altogether. I
would restart Outlook by having to kill the app via Task Manager. Once
Outlook is launched, Word automatically launches with a "cannot find object"
error message. The attachment itself is not necessarily a Word document. An
Office Repair has been performed via Control Panel. System is on XP2, running
Office 2003.

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Have you tried File, Save As when the attachment is open? Before you close it
and right-click on it.
Do you have alot of mapped drives? Is the attachment large?
