Outlook Express

I have windows XP home and outlook express 600.2800.1123
When I download messages and open them message is displayed. I get all the
text but no banners or pictures and I don't think I get links either. I have
not changed
anything from when they opened right. It has a little square and in the
square a triangle, square and circle indicating a picture or gif should
open.

Are you reading in Plain Text? Tools>Options>Read Tab. Uncheck it.
