can someone please put me in touch with a site that has
info on how to uninstall outlook express 6 as I can no
longer read my attachments and one of them is vital to my
wife.I know its to stop viruses but should microsoft not
have asked if I wanted that option first

Have you tried looking in Tools--Options?

In Outlook Express go to Tools, Options, Security and you'll find the
"attachments" option there.

Attachments in Outook Express can be accessed by:

In Outlook Express Toolbar:

Click-on---->Tools--->Options--->Security

Uncheck the box ---> "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened..."

Then Click -->Apply-->OK

Attachments are now readable. (security is inconvenient, but necessary)
