outlook express spell checker

I just set up a new dell PC and did not get microsoft word
program with it > it came with word perfect > my outlook
express that I like to use dosen't have spell checker >
what word program do I need to install to make the spell
checker work in outlook > I can not spend a lot of money
office 2003 cost to much > please repley to my e-mail

Greetings --

Outlook Express, as you've just discovered, has no spell-checking
capabilities of its own. Instead, it relies upon the presence of
certain specific other Microsoft applications, such as the Office
Suite, Word, or the Works _Suite_ (which includes Word, not the
regular Works). There are also some 3rd-party shareware/freeware
solutions available at any of the many shareware sites on the Internet

Spell Magic seems well thought-of, though I haven't tried it myself:
