Outlook Express Problem

Mike

Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me or direct me in
the right direction for fixing a problem on Outlook
Express. It's worked fine until about the last couple of
weeks or so I cannot send any email, but I can receive
email. When I try to send email it gives the following
error message: An unknown error was returned from the
SMTP server. Subject 'test', Account: 'mail.comcast.net',
Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server
Response: '556 null byte in data', Port: 25, Secure(SSL):
No, Server Error: 556, Error Number: 0x800CCC61

I use Comcast as my ISP and have it connected to that
account and have checked all the settings, etc. I
recently upgraded to 2003 Office and even went in and
uninstalled the Outlook part since we only use Express
and that didn't help either. I've shutdown my GhostSurf
system and even the virus program and also did not help.

Thanks
Mike

Try posting this in an Outlook Express group - this is not one of them.
Outlook is a part of MIcrosoft Office and Outlook Express is a part of
Internet Explorer.

You can also find some good assistance with OE here:

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, Mike asked:
