outlook express inbox

After several years of using OE, I have encountered a new problem.
Messages into my inbox are being filed in a sub-folder of previous
messages from the same sender, which may be several weeks old. This
means that when I see that I have a message to read, it may not be the
bottom (last) message in my inbox; instead I have to hunt up through
the box to find the highlighted message.

I presume I have inadvertently reset something, but I have hunted
through Tools OIptions and cannot find anything.

Any ideas, anybody?

Best to post your question in an Outlook Express newsgroup.
Remember to state your version of OE.

I would guess that you have activated "group messages together" under the
View menu. If that is selected, deselect it while an email folder is
selected.

Not an answer but a warning. NEVER EVER store emails you want to keep in any
of the default OE mail folders. they are very prone to corruption. Create a
folder manually and move all your email you need to keep to it. You've been
very lucky so far.
