Outlook Express in 2000

can someone give me some ideas.
I try to open Outlook Express and a message comes up saying:
The Address Book failed to load. Outlook Express is incorrectly configured,
please reinstall.
I have not changed anything. It is 2000 Build 2195 SP4. It is not seeing the
CD-ROM either, and everything is hooked up right and virus scan shows no
virus & spyware is gone, so any help would be gratefully appreciated. I am
hooked up to a router and the other computer is XP Pro. The 2000 is my sons
computer.
Thanks for any replies

This is for the following versions:
- Microsoft Outlook Express 5.0 for Windows 95
- Microsoft Outlook Express 4.0 for Windows 95
- MSN 2.5 (Version: 2.5)
- MSN 2.6 (Version: 2.6)
- MSN 5.0 (Version: 5.0)
- MSN 5.1 (Version: 5.1)

To resolve this issue, rename and then re-create the Windows address book
file. To do this, use the following steps:

1. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files Or Folders.

2. In the Named box, type "*.wab" (without the quotation marks), and
then click Find Now.

3. In the list of found files, right-click the following file

"<MSN Member ID>.wab" (without the quotation marks)
and then click Rename.

4. Type the following line, and then press ENTER:

"<MSN Member ID>.old" (without the quotation marks)

5. Close the Find: Files Named *.wab window.

6. Double-click the Outlook Express icon on the desktop. The MSN, The
Microsoft Network, Sign-In screen appears and a new Windows address
book file is created.

If you try the above and it does not resolve your issue then delete the
following regestry key and restart your computer:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\WAB\WAB4\Wab File Name

Thanks but none of these work. Searched for *.wab came back with nothing.
The registry has no listing for WAB4. Any other ideas how things disappeared
