Outlook Express help please

K

Kirk

I have win XP with Outlook Express installed. v6.0.0.2900 2180

and the problem is that I had a power cut whilst using the PC a couple of
weeks ago, and whilst everything seems to have recovered fine, OE is corrupt
somewhere, because when I send an email , it sends OK, but stays in the
OUTBOX... when the send and receive button is pressed , a second copy is
sent, ad infinitum.
Watching the progress bar it moves completely to the right- and stops there.
I have used the control panel to access the WinXP setup and removed OE6 and
re-installed it - still a problem. I've run scandisk, etc without a
problem..
What on earth is corrupt and where please?
Thanks a lot for any reply.

Probably the Outbox.dbx is corrupt.

Close OE -
1. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
2. In the Named box, type Outbox.dbx.
3. In the Look in box, click your primary hard disk (usually drive C), and then click
Find Now.
4. Right-click the Outbox.dbx file that appears, and then click Rename.
5. Type Outbox.old, and then click OK.
Restart OE to rebuild the Outbox.dbx file, and then send the message.

If it doesn't work -
Try Internet Explorer 6/Outlook Express NG
