Outlook Express disappears when switching identities

As of this week, I am new to Windows XP. I have two
different e-mail identities set up in Outlook Express.
Sometimes when switching identities, Outlook Express
disappears and cannot be made to return without reboot.
Trying to reopen it momentarily brings up the hourglass
symbol like it's thinking of starting but then it goes
away without Outlook Express starting. I never had this
problem with 98 or 2000. Any ideas to resolve this
problem would be appreciated.

Bring up Task Manager with Ctrl+Alt+Del. Find msimn.exe in the processes.
Kill it. Now you can click the OE icon and it will start up again.

The workaround is to choose Exit and Log Off Identity instead of Switch
Identity. You will then need to open up OE again, which will bring up the
Identity dialog box.
