outlook express (admenment to previous ?)

When using spell checker it checks in French!! this only started since
installing Word 2007 a few days ago? ( i do not believe this matters) -any
suggestions? In outlook -tools -options-spelling-languange it only shows
French! (and under custom dictionary) only words - it does not give me the
option to change to english.
