Outlook express 6 and how it views picture attachments

My Question is about Microsoft Outlook express 6 and how it views picture
attachments with the default picture viewer, Window Picture and Fax viewer.
Operating system XP
Outlook express 6
Window picture viewer uses two small blue buttons at the lower left hand
side of the viewer, arrow left and arrow right, to look at the next or
previous picture in a folder. The viewer work perfecly for this. The problem
I'm having is when I view a picture attachment that has been sent in an
e-mail picture attachment to my Microsoft Outlook express 6, this is what
happens: I open my Outlook express, I highlight the e-mail, the picture can
be viewed in the lower area, but at times the pictures are too large to see
in this area so I use the paper clip looking opener just to the right of the
e-mail to highlight the picture attachment, I click on the picture attachment
to view it in default Windows picture and fax viewer, the picture opens fine
but if I use the two small blue buttons at the lower LH side of the viewer as
to view the other pictures in the attachment instead of viewing pictures it
will start to view tempory internet files such as blinking icons and other
sorts of viewable tempory internet items some of which are strange and
embarrassing. Deleting all temp. files still does not stop this from
happening. I have even found that other PCs that are equipped like mine,
Operating system XP, Outlook express 6 behave exactly the same way. Is
there a way to stop my Microsoft Outlook express 6 and Windows picture and
fax viewer of being capable of viewing tempory internet items ???
Thank you for your help and support.
Sincerely

Within OE6, Use file/save attachments.
Save the pictures in a folder of your choice.
Navigate to that folder using windows explorer and
view as you described.

Those left and right arrows go to the previous or next file in the
directory where the image file is stored, not the next attached image
unless the file names are in sequence.

I am attempting to help my brother-in-law with this same problem. The
unwanted banners/attachments change even when e-mailing the same picture. He
is considering dumping outlook express altogether. I'm trying to talk him
out of this.

We know that right clicking and saving a picture to your "pictures" folder
should alleviate a future problem with a pic, but WHY are additional and
different banners/attachments being sent in any reply or forwarded e-mail
with this (or any other) picture? Banners/images are automatically attaching
themselves to every picture that he e-mails out...no matter if the picture is
from his personal family collection (not a website image) or not. Some of
these banners/attachments are from websites that HE has visited, however,
many are NOT. Where are they coming from and how can we nix it from
continually happening?

It seems that the banners/attachments are never the same each time - even
though the picture may remain the same.
