Outlook 2003 was installed as upgrade to Outlook 2002, for use with Exchange Server. Program runs okay, but on exit (after synchronizing automatically with the Exchange Server), the Notification Icon for Outlook remains in the System Tray. Clicking on it gives message saying Outlook is not responding. If I click on the Outlook application icon to re-launch it, the hourglass cursor appears for about 3-5 seconds then becomes an arrow cursor, and the program doesn't relaunch. I can try this several times, and same thing happens. But if I use the Task Manager (ctrl-alt-del) or the MS Office Tools Application Recovery program, it shows me that there are actually multiple copies of Outlook.exe running. I can use this program to end them, one at a time, and eventually, when it gets down to only one, it relaunches
Has anybody experienced this weird problem, or have a solution for it? It is highly reproducible. The only time exiting Outlook doesn't cause this problem is when there is no activity with the exchange server
Thanks
