Outlook deleting jpg files?

Mark

Hi,

I had to re-install Outlook, and now for some reason, when
I receive an email with a jpg attachment, it gets deleted
and a txt message subsituted that says:

File attachment: Uxt-000.jpg
The file attached to this email was removed
because the file name is not allowed.

Does anyone know what this could be? I am not on a
network and I check the restricted files listing from Help
and jpg files are not on either type 1 or type 2 files.

any help would be appreciated.

Do you have any add-ins installed in Outlook (Tools -> Options ->
Other -> Advanced)? Have you tried loading Outlook in safe mode
("outlook.exe /safe") which prevents the load of any add-ins?

Does your e-mail client connect directly to the mail servers, or does it
connect to an intervening proxy, like for spam filtering, shared
Internet access on a gateway host, or such?

Does your ISP provide a webmail interface to your e-mail account? If
so, review your e-mails using their webmail page to see if the
attachments are okay there. Maybe you have some filtering rules or
anti-spam feature enabled that is blocking those or maybe any
attachments.

Who is your ISP? Is this a ISP that you pay or is it your company's
mail servers? Maybe they don't allow attachments. Maybe they don't
allow certain filetypes for attachments (like they don't want their
users or employees downloading porn).

Do you have an anti-virus product scanning your inbound e-mails. What
happens if you disable its e-mail scan feature?
