Outlook could not find distribution list (list name)

For a user who has received a new laptop, I moved his Outlook data (e-mail,
contacts, etc.) via as PST file. All of his contacts show up in Outlook 2003
on his new computer, and distribution lists contain their appropriate
contacts.
However, when he opens a distribution list and then attempts to open a
distribution list within that one (another existing distribution list), he
gets the following message: Could not find distribution list "(name of
list)". It may have been deleted or removed from its original location.
Would you like to remove it from this list?
Since all distribution lists contain the contacts they had before the new
deploy, I find it strange that Outlook can't find other existing dist. lists.
Any thoughts?

By what process did you move the PST? If at any point you used export or
import, then you were the one who lost the DL contents, since DLs don't
survive import and export.

Thanks. I do think that I used the Import command to bring in the PST file's
info into Outlook 2003. What would have been a better way to move the old
info to the new computer?

File->Open->Outlook Data File. Then use drag and drop to get items into
their corresponding folders.
