Outlook Contacts Synchronization

I'm using Office 2000 with Windows XP Professional SP2, and I'm looking for a
product or methodology by which I can synchronize my Outlook Contacts Only
(not e-mail etc) between my laptop and desktop computers. I tried using net
folders, but that's more trouble than it's worth. I did a cursory search on
the internet for data synchronization folders, but all that I found did not
interface with Outlook, and only synchronize complete files, therefore ALL my
personal folder items would change as well. I found a program on the USB
Flash Drive that I purchased, which DOES interface with Outlook, and allows
me to select JUST what I want to sync, but in only synchronized between a
single computer and the flash drive.

ALL I WANT TO DO IS SYNCHRONIZE MY OUTLOOK CONTACTS LISTS, either directly
between the two computers via my network, or via an external drive. Why is
that so difficult to do?

Can ANYONE tell me of a method or product that will allow me to do this?

Thanks for the links. Unfortunately most of them are MASSIVE (and expensive)
Overkills, doing far too much more than my needs dictate. Most seem to be
for businesses and road warriors, and I'm just a retired old goat trying to
keep my contacts synchronized in my home network. Some only sync entire
files, and don't give the capability of selecting ONLY specific folders
within the .pst. There are one or two, however, that could possibly fit the
bill, and I'm going to try them. For the life of me, I can't understand why
Microsoft made this such a difficult thing to do.

Thanks again, and if you come up with any other ideas, please let me know.
