Outlook closes as soon as I open it

I run Office 2003. For no obvious reason Outlook has developed a problem.
It opens and then closes as soon as it opens the default view. I have tried
detect and repair from the office disk and haveuninstalled and reinstalled.
Same problem. I saw a suggestion posted about deleting the *.srs files.
Tried it and still no joy. Any other suggestions out there?
