Outlook Application Terminates - Process continues

Can anyone help?

Since updating Office Outlook 2003 with the latest updates, it's started to
terminate itself at random intervals. The application has gone from the
"application list" in task manager, but the outlook.exe process is still
running. Outlook will not restart until the process is cancelled. Does anyone
know of a cure for this? Thanks.
